Bridges of Oklahoma announced that an anonymous donor made a transformational $1 million gift to the Bridges of Moore project through the Oklahoma City Community Foundation.

"This gift changes everything for Moore Public Schools students," said Stacy Bruce, Executive Director of Bridges of Oklahoma.

Bruce said that while the donor has chosen to remain anonymous, their extraordinary generosity now permanently shapes the future of MPS students facing homelessness.

Bridges of Moore is a first-of-its-kind initiative developed in partnership with Bridges of Oklahoma, Moore Public Schools and the Moore Public Schools Foundation. Established in 1995, Bridges provides safe housing and comprehensive support for high school students experiencing homelessness due to no fault of their own and the staff work tirelessly to remove barriers to high school graduation.

When people come together around the most vulnerable students, the results are life-changing. This project is about stability, dignity, and ensuring every student has a real chance to graduate and thrive.

The finished Bridges of Moore Village will host 10 duplexes that offer 20 student apartments, two resident advisor homes and a student center that serves as the hub of connection for students. Bridges creates a stable, supportive campus and homes for students who live independently while completing high school.

Bruce said, “The Bridges concept removes the single greatest barrier our students face: housing insecurity. We replace that with safety, structure, mentorship, career planning and opportunity.”

The Bridges of Moore project advanced to funding after a series of interviews and evaluations were conducted with Bruce. Throughout the process, Bruce presented the vision and implementation plan for Moore, sharing data on the success of students who utilize the Bridges concept.

“Their gift represents a powerful belief in education, resilience, and the potential of young people when given the tools to succeed,” said Bruce.
